New PJ's :)

Brother is such a fan of new clothes for a 4 year old! He loves clothes and loves to match! He changes clothes like 3 times a day so very soon I will teach him how to do his own laundry! We always seem to be blessed with clothing from friends so my kids feel like it's Christmas everytime I bring clothes home. Our recent batch of nice clothing was from my friend, Amy, who handed down really nice size 6 and 7 clothes and YES they fit perfectly on my 4 yr old big boy. He wore 3 new things in one day! I got a picture of him with the PJ's that he loves!
Thank you Amy for being such a blessing to us!

19 years ago today........

19 years ago today:

I was 16 years old, had BIG curly brown hair, butterflies in my stomach and a HUGE crush on a boy named John. He wasn't just any ordinary boy. He was handsome, a Christian, genuinely nice, funny, goofy, so so smart, AND he liked me!! How lucky was I? Little did I know even then. :)

I paced, checked my hair a dozen times and nearly got sick from excitement waiting for him to arrive. Normally he would drive a brown 70's model Chevy Malibu but for that special first date, he borrowed the 80's model white car that was his grandmother's.
None of that mattered....we were going on our first date!

We went to Wendy's for dinner but I just told him I wasn't hungry. I was too excited..after all, this was a boy I never would have imagined would like me! How could I eat at a time like this?

After Wendy's we drove to the movie theater and watched "Naked Gun". Now if you are not familiar with this movie, PLEASE know that it is a comedy! Dry, dumb humor that was absolutely hilarious. Leslie Nielsen and Priscilla Presley..so so silly! We enjoyed laughing together.

After the movie, we went to TCBY for yogurt in 33 degree weather and talked till curfew which was probably 10p.m. or so. I remember thinking how he was such a gentleman, opening doors for me, walking me to the door and never expecting a kiss.

Now if you have read this far and know me, you are probably wondering how I remember such detail when I usually cant' remember what I had for breakfast in the morning! I came across my diaries from years ago and have enjoyed just sitting and reading them. I'm SO glad that I have these memories to go back to and revisit. It's so amazing to see the journey from junior high to college, to have such detail about things that were important, my walk with God and how I dealt with issues of my time. I love to read how I leaned on God through it all!

I'm so blessed to have that boy named John as my husband now. He is still all of those things and more that I fell in love with in high school. I love to see how God's hand molded our relationship over the past 19 years and He continues to help us grow together in Him.

I pray already for the spouse God has for my children. They have such a great role model in their daddy and I'm so thankful for that.

19 years ago today I fell in love with the man who is and forever will be the love of my life! He's the greatest gift God could have ever given me!

Back to school :(

I love it when my kids are out of school! We have enjoyed a nice 17 day Christmas break and it's so hard to send them back tomorrow! I think we are all ready to an extent but I sure miss them when they're gone. I'm looking forward to the routine again and will look forward to their sweet smiling faces tomorrow afternoon. I'm so thankful to God for such loving children. :)

Mr. Oakley

This is Mr. Oakley. My dad sent him to us last Christmas and a few months ago someone stole his mouth! :( He looks so solemn on our tree now....we need a mouth for him but I'm not having any luck finding one without having to buy a whole set. We think he's so cute! We may make a mouth out of sticks if it comes down to it! Poor Mr. Oakley!

Happy New Year

I thought I could at least start off the New Year actually posting on this blog that I created like a month ago! I usually stay too busy to sit for too long at a time, but I think being on here writing about daily what-nots will be fun...if I actually do it!

John and I just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary! I'm so blessed and thankful to have him in my life. I hope I don't take a single day for granted.

Now can somebody tell me how to put pictures on here?? :)
